Merimbula is roughly half way between Sydney and Melbourne on the coast.
Drive east via the Princes Highway to Pambula, and follow the signs to Merimbula. You will enter Merimbula town after crossing Merimbula lake. This journey will take approximately 6 hours (driving time), depending on traffic and your speed.
The Princes Highway from Sydney, south along the coast, will bring you to Bega. Alternatively, you can travel via the Hume Highway via Canberra. From Canberra, take the Monaro Highway to Cooma, and the Snowy Mountain Highway to Bega.
Both routes will get you from Sydney to Bega in about five hours, although during heavy traffic periods, the Canberra route is quicker. From Bega, follow the signs to Merimbula.
(If you don't need to go into Merimbula you can also approach Tura Beach from the North along Sapphire Coast Drive - from Bega take the road towards Tathra and turn right (south) after a small town called Kalaru. You will then turn left into Pacific Way - that route takes about 25 minutes from Bega).
For Dolphin Cove - follow the signs for Tura Beach / Tathra. Continue north on Sapphire Coast Drive for about 5 minutes. About 2 km past the Woolworths shopping centre turn right onto Pacific Way, first left into Dolphin Cove Drive and left into Rebecca Place. See the Google map on this page.
Melbourne to Merimbula by train and Vline with comfort stops will take around 8 hrs. From Sydney around 9 hrs and Canberra 3 - 4hrs. We will be able to transport you to Dolphin Cove from the bus stop - just ask.
By plane, Regional Express Airlines fly from Melbourne and Sydney. These flights land at Merimbula Airport where one of our staff members can be waiting to take you to the Dolphin Cove.
